The Ford Crown Victoria has been a staple in the Ford lineup for many years. As last full-frame cars still in production in North America, they have a loyal following among customers who want or need a large, smooth riding car with amazing durability. The biggest customer for the Ford Crown Victoria has been as a police vehicle, called the Interceptor and police services around the world prefer this vehicle.
The Ford Crown Victoria comes with many of the options that you would expect in a car of this quality. Standard options include a AM/FM CD player and keyless entry. Mechanically they offer front independent suspension and a rear live axle, with a body on frame design and Crown Victoria’s are rear-wheel drive like other full-frame cars.
The days of the full-frame car seem to be numbered, but there’s still a market for them. When General Motors stopped making their full-frame competitor, the Caprice in the late 1990’s, Ford saw sales of the Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis remain strong as they were now the only player in that unique market. Today however Crown Victoria’s still have geographic pockets where they tend to do quite well, with one of them being the Middle East. Middle Eastern customers enjoy large, Full Frame cars like the Crown Victoria and Ford has even offered special packages for the Middle-Eastern market to help bolster sales in that region.
For customer in the United States that are looking for a smooth, comfortable ride in a nice, spacious car, the Crown Victoria is one of the best that there is. With its proven reliability and durability, Ford has built a real winner in the Crown Victoria, even though it has a rather classic design.
