Ford Flex
The Ford Flex is one of Ford Motor Company’s newest and most interesting vehicles. People are surprised to find out it is a Ford when they first see it. Its styling is unlike anything else on the market, with its rectangular cross-over shape. The first impression of people is either love or hate, but upon entering this amazingly spacious vehicle, people are intrigued. First introduced in the American market in 2008, it was created to replace the minivan. The Flex can hold up to seven people with two in the front and back, and three in the middle. Plus, there is still plenty of room for storage, even with a full vehicle. Plus, the second row has more room than any other vehicle on the market. It is so spacious that it almost feels like you are sitting in your living room on your sofa with your legs stretched out in front. Its plenty of room if you and your friends want to go on a long road trip.
It has a 3.5 liter V6 engine that gets highway mileage of 24mpg. It comes available in both all wheel and front wheel drive and has traction control that has roll stability.
One of the great features of the Ford Flex is optional Vista Roof which is made up of different panels that allows all passengers to enjoy a panoramic view of the sky.
For a more personalized ride, the Flex offers ambient lighting in the front cupholders, rear center console as well as the footwells, that has seven different color tones that can be adjusted to match your mood.
The front center console has a clear, large eight inch touch screen that not only displays a Sirius navigational system and a camera system that shows what’s behind you when you’re backing up. When combined with Sync, the console becomes voice activated, so all you need to do is say your directions and it will show them step by step.
The rear center console has the option to come equipped with a mini refrigerator-freezer that is a real room-saver. No longer will you have to lug around those heavy coolers.
Another item you won’t have to carry is your keys. The Ford Flex has a new integrated, invisible key pad built into the side pillar of the door. You will only see it when you touch it. Your code unlocks the door and lights up the interior.
Speaking of interior, it isn’t difficult to hear the person sitting in the rear seats if you’re way up front since it has noise dampening technologically plus quieter tires, to make it one of the quietest rides around.
The Flex also offers great exterior colors and packages. There are three trim level packages – the SE, SEL and Limited. You can choose a body colored roof, or be unique and choose a silver or white roof, depending on the body color.
You can also choose a towing package which allows you to tow up to 4500 lbs, or a convenience package which includes an automatic liftgate and pedals that can be personally adjusted.
