Ford Fusion
From the time that the Ford Fusion was introduced to the North America market in 2005, it has been a highly popular car within the Ford family of automobiles. Made in Mexico, the Ford Fusion is a mid-size car that was first sold in August of 2005 and competes against other mid-size cars in North America, including the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. When Ford re-organized it’s lineup so that every car featured the current 3 bar grill, the Ford Focus was the first car in their fleet to get this new look which marked a turning point for the company and their commitment to building cars that customers want. The Ford Fusion sold even better than Ford had expected with over 30,000 units being sold within just the first three months of 2006, proving that Ford could make a car that customers wanted and actually liked.
The Ford Fusion is a comfortably equipped car that offers a number of features, plenty of space for five adults all at a price that’s quite competitive. The first generation Ford Fusion did quite well in the marketplace and gained respect from many who had given up on Ford years earlier. The newly designed Ford Focus which was released as a 2010 model, in the late spring of 2009 had taken a great car and made it even better.
With the new 2010 Ford Fusion comes new engines including a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine and a new 3L V6 Duratec engine which are said to be the most fuel efficient engines of any mid-size car currently made. The 4 cylinder version has plenty of power at 175hp while the V6 engine puts out a respectable 240hp.
A new version of Ford Fusion, the Ford Fusion Sport is available in the 2010 model, which includes a slightly different front fascia and an even more powerful, 3.5L V6 engine that is capable of putting out 263hp. A new transmission for 2010 is a 6 speed automatic transmission which provides plenty of acceleration and it shifts smoother than previous transmissions. Both front wheel drive and all wheel drive version of the Ford Fusion are available, with double-wishbone suspension that provides a smooth and responsive ride. Many automotive journalists and reviews have been surprised by just how good the Ford Fusion handles and it’s often compared to European brands that cost far more money and quality has been compared to Japanese brands that have traditionally been rated better.
Perhaps the most talked about Ford Fusion model for 2010 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid, which is the most fuel efficient mid-size car in the world today. Fuel efficiency has been at the heart of the design process for the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and a driver can expect to be able to drive over 700 miles on one tank of gas, during normal city driving which is exceptional. Not only will a Ford Fusion Hybrid save you money, but it will also burn far less fuel than a traditional gas engine, which helps protect the environment.
