Ford Mustang
First introduced to the North American market in 1964, the Mustang is Ford’s oldest model name, second only to the F-Series trucks. It may also be one of Ford’s most loved models as many of today’s adults remember when the Mustang was first released and how everyone loved it’s sporty look, feel and sound. Guys wanted to own one and girls wanted to date the guy who drove it. It was the epitome of cool. In fact, it is the only pony-type car that has been produced for over forty-five years without stopping. After decades of styling ups and downs, a little of the Mustang’s original glory was revived with the 2005 Ford Mustang, which was reminiscent of the first generation.
For the 2010 Mustang, its exterior has been refreshed with almost every part having undergone a more muscular and modern upgrade, giving it a more aggressive look.
Currently available are the Mustang V6, Mustang GT and the fabulous Shelby GT500. They also offer the convertible as well as glass top roofs.
The Mustang V6 has a powerful 210hp engine with the regular V6 and V6 premium models available. The fuel economy is estimated at 25mpg on the highway with manual transmission. The V6 is basic and comes with manual transmission, 17″ painted aluminum wheels, single stainless steel exhaust while the V6 Premium comes with all that plus Ford Sync, Ambient Lighting, leather wrapped steering wheel and leather trimmed seats. Also with the Premium, you get Sirius satellite radio 500 watt audio system with MP3 capabilities and six CD changer.
The Mustang GT is more powerful with a big V8 315hp engine with special Ford engine cover. The front end has been retooled to be more aerodynamic and houses a GT-unique dark chrome pony on the grill. On the GT, you get 18″ aluminum wheels that have been painted as well as dual exhaust, rear spoiler, and of course, it is a convertible. With the Mustang GT Premium, you can upgrade to 19″ wheels and a glass roof on the coupe version. You can also put on a 1000 watt 10 speaker sound system for even more surround sound.
Now, if you’re looking for the cream of the crop, the Mustang Shelby GT500 is the vehicle for you. On top of all the standard Mustang features, it also includes a 5.4L V8 engine with 540hp and 510 lbs of torque and a domed hood with a heat extractor. Extra wide Z-rated tires are offered with 18″ wheels on the convertible and 19″ wheels on the coupe. It also has unique SVT shocks and springs for ultimate handling and the x-shaped exhaust has been tuned for optimum sound. The rear spoiler is unique to the Shelby and it comes with traditional GT500 rocket stripes and front grill emblem. It also has racing stripes based on the famous LeMans race.
Whichever Ford Mustang you choose, all have custom accessory packages which will improve the great Mustang look even further.
